The Auburn Public Works Department is accredited by the American Public Works Association (APWA). We are the first and only nationally-accredited public works agency in Maine!

Notification of Weed Control on Pavements and Sidewalks

To control vegetation emerging from pavements, the community of Auburn will be completing pavement crack and crevice herbicide applications. Applications will be completed from June through October 15, 2025. A certified licensed contractor will complete the work. Target areas include roadside sidewalks, traffic islands, walkways and parking lots. The herbicides to be utilized will be Esplanade 200 SC Herbicide, Sureguard SC Herbicide and Reward Herbicide. An organic herbicide will also be used called Finalsan Herbicidal Soap. Further information can be obtained from Municipal Pest Management Services, Inc. (603-431-0008 or swampfixer@swamp-inc.com).
