Current Vacancies

The City of Auburn has several boards and committees that citizens can volunteer to be a member of.  Our current Board and Committee vacancies are listed below:   

Auburn Lewiston Municipal Airport Board of Directors - 1 vacancy, Auburn City Representative, for an unexpired term expiring 1/1/2026.

Sewerage District Board of Trustees - 1 vacancy, for an unexpired term expiring 3/1/2026.

Complete Streets Committee - 2 vacancies, 1 Auburn resident, for a term expiring 1/1/2025; 1 Public Health & Wellness Representative

Board of Assessment Review - 3 vacancies, 3 alternate members, up to a three year term TBD

Zoning Board of Appeals - 3 vacancies, 1 regular member and 2 associate members, up to a three year term TBD

Planning Board - 1 vacancy, for an unexpired term expiring 1/1/2027.  

Sustainability & Natural Resource Management Board (SNRB) - 1 vacancy, Sustainability Working Group Member representative, for a term expiring 4/1/2027.

City Council Student Representative - 1 vacancy, rising high school Junior, for a 2 year term  (please complete this application, and return to Emily Carrington, City Clerk.) 

Planning Board Student Representative - 1 vacancy (please complete this application and return to Eric Cousens, Director of Permitting and Planning Department)

The Sustainability & Natural Resource Management Board's working groups are always looking for new participants! Working groups include: Natural Products & Agriculture, Conservation, Community Forest, and Sustainability.

High school students are welcome. Working group members are confirmed by the SNRB rather than the City Council. Confirmation is upon the recommendation of the working group. Participation is welcome before confirmation. There is no formal application process.

We are currently accepting applications for the Boards and Committees listed above. Please submit applications to the Office of the City Clerk by Monday, August 12, 2024.  The Appointment Committee is scheduled to meet on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 to review applications and make recommendations for the August 19 City Council meeting.
