On July 7, 2025, the Auburn City Council approved creation of the standing Homelessness Committee.The purpose of the homelessness committee shall be to advance the city's commitment to reducing homelessness by serving as a research, advisory, and advocacy group on homelessness within the city.
The City is now accepting applications looking to serve on this new committee. Apply here.
The Homelessness Committee will total 15 members comprised of:
1) A city councilor 2) A representative of an organization providing respite services in the city. 3) A representative of an organization providing shelter services in the city. 4) A representative of an organization providing housing services in the city. 5) A representative of an organization providing addiction services in the city. 6) A representative of an organization providing mental health services in the city. 7) A representative of an organization providing veteran services in the city. 8) A representative of an organization providing health care services to the homeless. 9) A resident of the city with homeless lived experience. 10) A resident of the city 11) A resident of the city 12) City Public Health Manager (Ex-Officio) 13) School Department Homeless Liaison (Ex-Officio) 14) Police Chief, or designee (Ex-Officio) 15) Fire Chief, or designee (Ex-Officio)
