Board of Assessment Review

The Board of Assessment Review periodically meets to hear appeals on a property owner’s valuation. Appeals can either be for disputes concerning real or personal property. In compliance with the assessment laws of the Sate of Maine, the Board determines if the property valuation is fair and equitable in accordance with fair market value. The Board renders impartial decisions and advises appellants accordingly of further legal action. The Board is only required to meet for appeal hearings.  MMA training is mandatory for all BAR members upon appointment to the Board... more info.
