Recipients use this sand on their walkways, steps, and driveways to make them safer during the snowy/icy winter months. More than 250 Auburn residents are already enrolled in the program!

This special program is made possible through the generous support of Home Depot and Lowe’s of Auburn, who generously provide buckets for the program.

Auburn homeowners who are 65 and older and wish to receive a free bucket of sand to use on their steps and walkways should contact Auburn Public Works by October 23 to enroll: 207-333-6670. Buckets will be delivered beginning in early November.
