The Lewiston-Auburn 9-1-1 Emergency Communications System is scheduled for an on-site assessment as part of a program to achieve re-accreditation by verifying it meets professional standards. Administered by the Commission on Accreditation or Law Enforcement agencies, Inc. (CALEA), the accreditation program requires agencies to comply with state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services.
As part of the on-site assessment, agency employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments by telephone. The public and agency employees may call 207-754-3901 on Tuesday, October 12th between the hours of 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Telephone comments are limited to 10 minutes and must address the agency’s ability to comply with CALEA standards. For additional information, please contact the Lewiston-Auburn 9-1-1 Emergency Communications System, Director Paul LeClair, at 207-786-5380 x2.
