Household Bulky Waste Disposal

Auburn residents can dispose of household bulky waste YEAR-ROUND at Maine Waste to Energy (110 Goldthwaite) Road (cost is approximately $0.10/pound or $200/ton).

MWE is open Monday-Friday, 7AM to 4PM and Saturday 7AM–noon.
You may be required to show proof of residency (driver’s license, tax bill, utility bill, etc.).

Materials MWE will accept:

· Furniture

· Mattresses & box springs

· Air conditioners

· Tires (maximum of 4)

· Rugs

· Metals (excludes large auto parts and metals containing hazardous materials)

· Propane tanks

· White goods (washers, dryers, refrigerators, small appliances, etc.)

· Wood waste which includes construction and demolition debris

· Sheetrock

· Shingles

· Tires in excess of 4

MWE will NOT accept:

· Any Hazardous Material

· Paints

· Oils

· Cleaners

· Gasoline

· No liquids of any type

Electronic waste such as televisions, computer monitors, and fluorescent bulbs can be brought to the Public Works Garage at 296 Gracelawn Road (free of charge).
