For all permit applications, please visit SmartGov to sign up.

In SmartGov you can:

  • Report a code viololation
  • Search for parcel information
  • View Monthly permit reports and public notices
  • Apply for or Renew a Business License
  • Submit a Site Plan for Development Review

  • Fire Department Elevator Requirements
    • Elevator cars need to accept an 83” long by 24” wide stretcher in the supine position.
    • Reference: MRS Title 32, Chapter133, Subsection 15-228, Per Main Elevator & Tramway Safety 

 

Questions about your project and what permits are necessary, can be directed to the departments listed below. Completed Permit Applications can be returned to the appropriate department at Auburn Hall, 60 Court Street:

City Clerk's Office - Business License, Special Event/Mass Gathering, and Garage Sale Permit Applications
Engineering - Drive Entrance, Fill, Private and/or Public Excavation, Storm Water Drainage Connection Agreement, and Utility Location Permit Applications
Permitting and Code Enforcement - Building, Electrical, Home Occupation, MUBEC Residential Energy Code, Plumbing, and Sign Permit Applications and Planning Board Development Review Applications
Zoning and Planning - Subdivision Plans, Site Plan Applications, Zoning Changes and Conformance Letters, Flood Hazard Development Plan, Phosphorus Control Plans, Farm Maangement Plans, Site Law
