Do YOU scoop?

The City of Auburn wants to know...

Do you scoop the poop?

Picking up after your pet is easy, if you’re prepared.

Did you know that pet waste can contain pathogens such as bacteria, viruses, and parasitic worms which can transmit disease to humans?

Your pet’s waste affects the water quality of lakes, streams and marine waters in our area. Typically, storm water never passes through a sanitary sewer treatment facility. In other words, anything on the ground can eventually end up in a nearby water way.

It is also important to know that you should never flush pet waste! Septic systems and wastewater treatment plants are not designed to treat pet waste.

The City of Auburn encourages all pet owners to pick up after their pets!
