Christmas Tree Disposal

  • December 27, 2018

Time to take the tree down? Christmas trees will not be collected curbside, but Auburn residents can drop them off at the following locations:

• Public Works Garage – 296 Gracelawn Road (behind the community sand shed)
• Maine Waste to Energy – 110 Goldthwaite Road (Monday-Friday, 7:00AM to 4:00PM & Saturday 7:00AM to 12:00PM)
• Engine 2 Fire Station – 181 South Main Street (by the community sandbox)

For those unable to drop their tree off, local Boy Scout of Troop 121 offers an alternative. For a minimum donation of $5, the Auburn-based troop will pick-up Christmas trees on the weekend of January 5th and 6th.

Troop 121 was created to help give youth with special physical, mental and emotional challenges the opportunity for success in a safe Scouting environment that builds character, encourages citizenship, teaches life skills and develops personal fitness. Money raised by this program goes directly to this troop's scouting activities.

Send your donation by January 3, 2019 to Troop 121, United Methodist Church, 439 Park Avenue, Auburn. The Troop will send you a tag to place on your tree when you place it curbside. For more information, call 783-0790. Trees should not be placed curbside until the morning of January 5th.
