Auburn PD Receives National Accreditation Award

  • November 18, 2013

The Commission on Accreditation of Law Enforcement (CALEA) voted on Saturday, November 16, to award the Auburn Police Department it's third Accreditation Award. The department received this "Gold Standard Accreditation" award at a ceremony in Winston-Salem, NC.

Auburn PD is one of only four police departments in Maine to receive and maintain national law enforcement accreditation.
The Auburn Police Department must comply with 481 core standards (best practices) to maintain our accreditation status. Law Enforcement Accreditation Status is granted for three years, during which agencies must submit annual reports attesting continued compliance with those standards under which it was initially accredited.

This is the highest recognition of law enforcement professional excellence, and Chief Phillip Crowell, Deputy Chief Jason Moen and Accreditation Manager Liz Allen proudly recognize and congratulate the men and women of the Auburn Police Department!
