Fire Prevention Division

The Fire Prevention Program consists of the Fire Prevention Officer (Fire Inspector/Fire Investigator), David O'Connell.  This program provides for the life safety of the public as well as the firefighters. The Fire Prevention Office is responsible for the following:

  • Fire investigations
  • Life safety inspections and license approvals for businesses
  • Life safety inspections for 3+ unit apartment buildings
  • Plans review for new construction/businesses
  • Providing Certificates of Occupancy
  • Code enforcement
  • Oil burner inspections
  • Chimney, pellet stove, wood stove, and fireplace surveys
  • Blasting permits
  • Fireworks permits
  • Juvenile Firesetter Program
