The Auburn Fire Department has 15 Paramedics, 24 Advanced Level EMTs and 23 Entry Level EMTs. They are cross-trained as firefighters and as certified EMS providers.
On October 14, 2014, the Auburn Fire Department assumed responsibility for the provision of emergency ambulance transportation in the City of Auburn and for the provision of emergency ambulance transportation for its mutual aid partners at their request.
This enhanced level of service provides two staffed ambulances (one at AFD Central Station on Minot Ave and the other at AFD Station 5 located on Center Street) solely dedicated to serving the citizens of Auburn and all those who may be in need of emergency ambulance service within the city.
This service, as with all emergency services in Auburn, is accessed through dialing 911.
