Divisions of Fire Department
The administration consists of the fire chief, deputy chief, fire prevention officer, office manager, and fire department planner. The administrative offices are located at Engine 3 Station, also known as Central Station, at 550 Minot Avenue.
The Auburn Fire Department has 14 Paramedics and 45 EMTs. They are cross-trained as firefighters and as certified EMS providers.
The Fire Prevention Program consists of the Fire Prevention Officer, David O'Connell. This program provides for the life safety of the public as well as the firefighters. The Fire Prevention Office is responsible for the following:
- Fire investigations
- Business license and life safety inspections
- Oil burner, chimney, pellet and wood stove, fireplace inspections
- Blasting permits
- Juvenile Firesetter Program
- Support to other divisions of the fire department

This division consists of a force of four Battalion Chiefs and 48 firefighters (14 FFs per platoon). This division was designed to protect and save lives and property from fire and other emergencies such as explosions, hazardous material incidents, electrical problems, water removal and bomb threats. It is also designed to provide first repsonder medical care.
