One of the Consolidated Plan goals is to reduce fragmentation and improve coordination of homeless services. Community Development staff participates in the local group who addresses the continuum of homeless services for the area, Lewiston-Auburn Alliance for Services to the Homeless (LAASH). This group meets monthly to focus on local homeless issues and is currently working on continuum issues, and provides a forum for educating its members.

LAASH also identified security deposit assistance as a barrier to homeless or near homeless persons. Community Development staff participates on the Security Deposit Loan Committee, a seven-member group who provides security deposits for eligible applicants. Security Deposit Guidelines
