According to a recent FluView report, flu activity continues to increase across the nation. High levels of activity are still being reported in the South Central and Southeastern states, and other parts of the country are now experiencing increases in flu activity as well. Additional increases across the United States are expected in the coming weeks. Anyone 6 months and older who has not gotten a flu vaccine yet this season should get one now.
Influenza A (H3N2), 2009 influenza A (H1N1), and influenza B viruses have all been identified in the U.S. this season, but at this time, influenza A (H1N1 - swine) viruses have predominated.
