RE: Ballfield Project Neighborhood Mtg.

To whom it may concern,

The City of Auburn and Auburn Suburban Baseball and Softball are excited to announce the plans for a new consolidated ballfield complex at the corner of Hotel Road and Stevens Mills Road. We recently learned of a new opportunity to have sitework completed by the Maine Army National Guard at no charge to the City or ASBS over the coming year. While the plans are schematic concepts only at this point we wanted to invite the neighborhood to a virtual meeting to discuss the project and the anticipated schedule for clearing this summer and rough grading next year while final plans are being developed.

Please join the discussion via zoom or view the meeting via Youtube at 6PM on Wednesday July 8th 1. You may watch the meeting live on the Internet via the City’s YouTube channel located at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCn4hg3vz0ftbcLee4mz-1Dw. A recording will also be posted to that site.

2. You may submit any written comments by sending them to City staff in advance of the meeting to comments@auburnmaine.gov, by regular mail at the address above, or by telephone at 333-6601, ext.1133.

3. If you wish to participate in the meeting live, you may do so by visiting www.auburnmaine.gov and opening this letter in the news section on the right side of the screen. To minimize technological disruption, we request that you register in advance by using the link in the letter:

Concept level plans will also be accessible prior to the meeting. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar. Additional public meetings with the Auburn Planning Board will be held this summer/fall to review detailed plans and address any concerns before plans are finalized.

I hope that this information is useful and clear. We are doing our best to provide transparent government with public participation options. While we do not guaranty any single technological tool will be satisfactory for all people nor in all circumstances, we are confident that through advance notice and overlapping options, the essential components of public deliberation and participation will be preserved. We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we deploy these tools. Please do not hesitate to contact me via ecousens@auburnmaine.gov if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Travis Bashaw
