Sports Tourism Public Meeting

AUBURN, ME. – The City of Auburn is pleased to announce a partnership with Huddle Up Group, LLC, a sports tourism consulting group from Arizona. Huddle Up will be visiting Auburn Monday, September 18, 2017 to September 20, 2017 to begin a study on sports tourism and events in the City of Auburn.
Their visit will include an interview process, facility and venue tours, workshops and will conclude with an informal community meeting at Auburn City Hall Wednesday, September 20th, 2017, from 8:00AM to 9:45AM in the Community Room. The public is invited to come and meet the Huddle Up Group staff and share their thoughts and input. The goal of this partnership is to develop a strategic approach to strengthening the City’s sports tourism efforts in organized and recreational opportunities.

LaBonté. “The City of Auburn, along with partner organizations in our region, has the types of assets to make this possible in the tourism market by expanding on opportunities in sports and recreation. What we lack in lobsters and lighthouses, the images that dominate Maine's largest industry of tourism, we make up for with the potential of sports like skiing, hockey, basketball, soccer, baseball and others.
