Please join the AFD for a presentation by Kent Nelson, Forest Ranger Specialist/Excess Property Manager for the Dept. of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry. Mr. Nelson has offered to present an Overview of the Firewise Program – this presentation has been scheduled for Wednesday, November 8 at 6:00 pm in the Council Chambers at Auburn Hall.  The presentation will cover:

1. Definitions and background of the Firewise Program
2. Methods for conducting wildfire risk assessments
3. Requirements and advantages of the  Firewise Communities Program
4. Explanation of the Community Wildfire Protection Plan
5. Discussion on scheduling wildfire risk assessments / timeline
6. Questions and answers
