AUBURN COUNCIL/SCHOOL COMMITTEE CANDIDATE FORUM

Citizens of Auburn will have the opportunity to hear from City Council and School Committee candidates at a public forum to be held on Monday, October 30 at 6:00pm.

The Auburn Business Association (ABA) is hosting the forum, which will be held at Auburn Hall in Council Chambers. However, a group of eleven students from Edward Little High School will be “running the show.”

This event, which will offer these young people an opportunity to participate in the democratic process, will encourage the next generation of civic leaders. It will also give Auburn voters a chance to hear from the candidates.

These student leaders from ELHS have been hard at work formulating thoughtful questions that will challenge the candidates. “The kids are really excited,” said Craig Latuscha, EL Social Studies Teacher and faculty advisor to the student group. “They are excited to be part of the event and look forward to being the moderators.”

Individuals running for a seat on Auburn’s City Council and School Committee plan to participate in the forum, including several who are running unopposed.

The public is invited to attend this Candidate Forum. Those unable to attend in person can tune in to Great Falls Television (Spectrum Cable Channel 7). The forum will also be streamed live on their website: www.greatfallstv.net, as well as the City of Auburn’s official YouTube channel and Facebook page.
