WEEKEND TRAFFIC ALERT
The Lake Auburn Half Marathon & 5K will be taking place this Sunday, September 10. Forgive the long post, but traffic will be impacted and motorists should note the following:
The 5K run/walk starts at 9:15AM.
Turner Street will be temporarily closed from the mall entrance to Joline Drive (traffic will be able to enter the mall parking lot but not the traffic circle). Joline Drive will be closed at Center Street. Kings Road will be closed from Turner Street to the access road. After the 5K, Joline Drive will be opened from Center Street to the Auburn Plaza entrance.
The half marathon starts at 9:00AM.
Turner Street from Joline Drive to Rte 4 will be closed for the duration of the event (roughly 0830 – 1200). All side roads from Turner Street to Center Street will be closed (they can be accessed from Center Street but traffic cannot access Turner Street). Gracelawn Road will be closed for the duration of the event. Rte 4 (south) from Turner Street to Lakeshore Drive will be down to one lane. Lakeshore Drive will be one lane and only westbound traffic will be allowed (traffic coming from Maple Hill Road will have to turn right on Lakeshore Drive). North Auburn Road will have delays between Johnson Road and Holbrook Road while runners pass through. Holbrook Road will closed in Minot at its intersection with Simeon Road and Bailey Road (traffic will be detoured down those roads).
