Real Estate Sales Questionnaires

When a home is purchased in the City of Auburn, the Assessing Office sends new owners a welcome letter which includes: a homestead application, address change form and a sales questionnaire. The chart below shows two years’ work of property owner responses to the questionnaire. To the question: “Reason for purchase”, the most popular reason, two years in a row, is “neighborhood”.

Other reasons stated: "to downsize", "more square feet than prior residence", "a lot of love was put into this home", "proximity to family", "I built this property", "closer to family", "privacy of location", "price compared to other homes/locations", "allows dogs", "built-in pool".
