Drug Overdose Community Forum

Drug overdose is on the rise in Maine and across the US.

  • 1 in 15 people who take non-medical prescription pain relievers will try heroin.
  • Nearly 44,000 people die from drug overdoses each year in the US.
  • Auburn has had 29 overdoses, resulting in 7 deaths since 2013.


You can be part of the solution. Through education, awareness & prevention, we can make a real difference and save lives. Join the Auburn Police Department and our community partners at our DRUG OVERDOSE COMMUNITY FORUM, part of our HERO Initiative.

Each forum will focus on this issue from a local perspective and will feature: law enforcement, public health professionals & social service providers; as well as personal stories of struggle, triumph and loss.
