The AFD Announces Director of Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

Auburn welcomes Brad Chicoine -

The Auburn Fire Department is pleased to announce that we have hired Brad Chicoine as our Director of Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Brad comes to us after serving twelve years in the Saco Fire Department as a firefighter/paramedic and as the Emergency Medical Services Coordinator.

Brad has a Bachelors Degree in Health Sciences from the University of Southern Maine and is a certified Fire Officer and Instructor. Brad possesses a breadth of EMS experience including advanced paramedic certifications, multiple instructor credentials, and serves as a member of several leadership groups including the Maine EMS Board of Directors.

As the EMS Director, Brad will provide oversight and daily management of the EMS program to include the delivery of training, quality assurance, and scene response, as well as attending meetings to represent the interests of the City and our Department. In addition, Brad will also serve as the department Health and Safety Officer where he’ll ensure that a safe working environment is maintained and compliance with state and federal regulations concerning occupational safety are met.

Brad has expressed excitement in this new opportunity and looks forward to this next step in his career. Brad’s first day will be Monday, January 29, 2018.
