Take a Walk in the Park Day!

  • March 13, 2018

The snow is still flying out there, but the Auburn Conservation Commission and the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board invite the greater Auburn community to enjoy a “Walk in the Park” on Friday, March 30th.

“National Take A Walk in the Park Day” is observed annually on March 30th as an opportunity for exercise and relaxation. Often calming and therapeutic, a walk helps clear the mind. It also helps re-energize and improves health.

Auburn’s park walk will begin at 4:30PM on Friday, March 30 at the Knight House, just below West Pitch Park. The walk will meander toward Sullivan Square via the Riverwalk, Festival Plaza, Bonney Park, and the Art Wall. Refreshments will be provided at the end of the walk.

Auburn has many beautiful public parks, and additional “Walks in the Park” may be scheduled. A list of parks can be found here on our website:  www.auburnmaine.gov/pages/government/public-parks.

For more information, or if you would like to host a “Walk in the Park,” e-mail Tizz Crowley at tizzcrowley@yahoo.com or call Ward 5 Councilor Leroy Walker (207) 577-2694.
