2019 Business Personal Property, Accounts Processing is Underway

Dear Business Owners and/or Preparers,

The assessing office has begun to process the nearly 1,200 business personal property accounts located in the City of Auburn. The deadline for filing was April 16, 2019. If you have not yet filed – you still have an opportunity to do so. Follow the links to our filing forms and instructions or call our office for assistance…

 2019 forms and notices:

As of March 14, 2019, all first notices to business owners were mailed concerning their obligation to file a business asset list. All businesses are required to file a return. This request is made according to Maine Statute, Title 36 Section 706-A.  We have also sent e mails and second notices to some filers. Pursuant to Maine law failure to provide an asset filing will bar your right to an appeal; we encourage everyone to file including rental property, commercial, industrial, and all other business owners. If you need help, please contact us.

If you are no longer in business, it is very important that you notify us in writing. Non-filers will be rendered an estimated assessment based on comparable businesses or an added growth factor. Don't miss your opportunity to file, if you have any questions you can reach us at Auburn Hall:
