Business Personal Property 2017

It’s March, that means Personal Property season is here again!

Pursuant to Maine Law, businesses are required to provide the Assessing Office with a list of their assets. We plan to mail the notices and filing forms the week of March 13, 2017. If you are a new business, please contact our office with filing instructions. If your business has closed – please also contact our office so we may close your account.

All current business owners must file the 706 filing forms with the Assessor by April 15^th. If you require assistance filling out your return, we are happy to help. Please call the Assessing Department at 333-6601 ext 1114 with any questions or to arrange a site visit. 

Your business may also be eligible for State exemptions (BETE) or a refund (BETR), but you have to file to take advantage of these programs.
