Auburn Public Works Supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month

  • October 01, 2012

The City of Auburn’s Public Works Department would like to announce that its crew members will be wearing Pink T-Shirts every Friday throughout the month of October in Support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In addition to the shirts the Public Works Trucks will have Pink Ribbons attached to the vehicles. The crew at Public Works has wanted to get behind a cause and show support for the community and fellow crew members as a united group. The idea of Breast Cancer Awareness was raised by some crew members and together they decided that this would be a great opportunity to show support. Combined with wearing the Pink Shirts emblazoned on the back with the well recognized saying “Real Men Wear Pink” the crew will be raising money to donate to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® foundation supporting breast cancer research. If you see the crew working around the City wearing a Pink T-Shirt or driving a truck with a pink ribbon on it; wave or say ‘hi’ to let them know that you too support the cause and what they are doing.
