  • February 23, 2017

The Auburn Public Library invites all ages to one of their biggest family events of the year...

Visit APL on Friday, February 24 from 4:30 – 6:30 PM for our annual Indoor Farmer’s Market.

This family-friendly event includes lots of great vendors with a culinary delight of homegrown and homemade foods and treats, plus live music, crafts, animals, and exhibits. Vendors will offer an assortment of homemade breads, jams, chutneys, canned vegetables, root vegetables, and of course some wonderfully delicious baked goods. Pick up some great handmade scarves, hats, mittens, or natural skin care products.

This festive event will feature live acoustic music by Aaron Wardwell and homestead demonstrations such as basket weaving and embroidery. An interactive display on Maine Fiber Arts will also be on hand.

In the children’s department there will be a fun activity as participants discover how Mother Nature moves seeds allowing new plants to grow. Kids can build their own whirligig and learn how wind is critical to the planting of seeds. Don’t forget to bring the kids into the Grand Reading Room to pet the live animals!

The Auburn Public Library’s Farmer’s Market is free to the public and is one way the Library thanks all our community members and community businesses for their wonderful support.
