APD Receives National Recognition

Auburn Police Chief Phillip L. Crowell, Jr. is proud to announce that the Auburn Police Department has been awarded national re-accreditation.

On November 5, 2016, in Charleston, South Carolina, the Auburn PD was awarded international recognition for the 4th time by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). During an Auburn City Council Meeting held on Monday, January 23, Karen Shepard, Assessment Manager for CALEA, presented Chief Crowell and his staff with their official certificate of “Gold Standard Accreditation, With Excellence.”

“The APD stands out as a model of excellence in law enforcement,” said Chief Phil Crowell. “I am so proud of my team - each of them worked tirelessly to earn the highest recognition of law enforcement professional excellence.”
