ABSENTEE BALLOTS ARE AVAILABLE

FOR THE

JUNE 14, 2016 STATE PRIMARY AND SCHOOL BUDGET VALIDATION REFERENDUM ELECTION

The statewide deadline to request an absentee ballot for this election is Thursday, June 9, 2016. Office hours of the City Clerk/Registrar of Voters are Monday through Friday from 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. for any resident wishing to register to vote, change voter information, enroll in a political party, or vote by absentee ballot. We will be offering extended hours on Thursday, June 9, 2016 (8:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M.) to allow additional time for residents to request an absentee ballot.

There are several ways to request an absentee ballot. You can do so by;

1. Filling out an application and mailing it to the City Clerk's office.

2. Calling the City Clerk's office at 333-6600 (we must speak to each voter individually when requesting an absentee ballot over the phone).

3. Submitting an electronic request http://www.maine.gov/cgi-bin/online/AbsenteeBallot/index.pl

4. Vote an absentee ballot in person in the City Clerk's office.

All absentee ballots must be returned to the City Clerk's office no later than 8:00 P.M. on Election Day, June 14, 2016.

VOTER REGISTRATION

There is no deadline for residents to register to vote in person, however anyone who registers to vote by mail, third party or voter registration drive must do so by the close of business on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 for this election.

Residents may also register and vote at their polling place on Election Day. Proof of identity and Auburn residency are required in order to register to vote.
