A Message from Auburn Public Services

  • February 13, 2015

On behalf of the Auburn Public Services Department I would like to say "thank you" to Auburn residents for their patience and cooperation over the past 2 weeks. We recognize the challenges winter weather poses for our residents, and appreciate your support. Crews have continued to work around the clock removing snow banks and opening up sidewalks. Although the crews of Auburn Public Services have made significant progress removing snow, we still have many streets that are narrowed due to the 4’ of snow we have received over the past 2 weeks.

As we brace for yet another storm bringing blizzard conditions this weekend, we ask residents to use caution at intersections and on our streets. With the potential for another 15” or more this weekend, roads will become even more difficult to pass in some areas. Crews will be working all weekend plowing, sanding, and salting our roadways to ensure we maintain the safest roads possible. Following the storm this weekend, crews will resume the snow removal efforts as soon as possible.

The department has received an incredible amount of compliments and signs of support from our residents. We want to thank each and every citizen who has taken the time to express their support and appreciation. The crews and staff may be tired from the long hours, but their commitment to the people of Auburn has not wavered. We are very proud to serve this great city.
